JSE-listed Dis-Chem has done an about-turn, distancing itself from an internal memo penned by its founder and CEO Ivan Saltzman and leaked to the media last week that called for a moratorium on hiring white people as the pharmaceutical retailer aimed to improve its employment equity numbers.
